We knew Sheldon through my dear friend Chris. We knew and loved Sheldon, and recall a wonderful weekend to PEI with them.
Brian knew Sheldon from bowling and they rekindled their friendship in the last few years with memories of boxing events
May he rest in Jesus’s loving arms.

Sheldon was a wonderful grandfather to our children, Sarah, James, John and Andrew, who enjoyed his many visits to the farm, which always ended too soon. He was also a good friend to me and Heather, a humble and kind man, and very wise. It was an honour for us that he spent his last Christmas at our home. He was seated next to me and we shared a Christmas cracker, a memory I will always treasure. In his final days Sheldon revealed a quiet courage that was both inspiring and instructional. We love you Grandpa.

There are not enough words to describe how special of an Uncle Sheldon was to me.
I remember how excited he was to find out his great niece, Cortney was born on his birthday (1991) and when she took her first steps at his home. Sheldon enjoyed many of her birthday parties at the bowling alley. “Get out the bumper pads”, he’d say.
Sheldon was not only a man of many secrets, plans and conspiracies, he was someone full of love, laughter and kindness.
I will treasure the many years of memories. From the early 70’s when he lived with us and I had stolen his teeth out of his jewelry box, thinking I’d put them under my pillow for the tooth fairy (so I could get some money).
He took me on the Bluenose when I was four years old. To the very first trip, for the both of us, to the Caribbean in 1986.
Only for Sheldon to get three deep scratches on his side from swimming over coral reef (on the first day). He told everyone at the resort it was from a shark attack.
Also Sheldon’s famous meatballs. He had invited a few people over for supper, two hours after we all arrived, Sheldon went to check on his meatballs, wondering what was taking so long, to realize he forgot to turn on the oven. That was Sheldon.
As the years past, we went on to live our lives but never too busy for each other. I will miss our daily calls to “catch-up” on what was new and exciting.
Sheldon will always be in my heart and on my mind.
The many sayings he would say;
“Keep your stick on the ice” and “Don’t pick up any wooden nickels”
Lastly, one of Sheldon’s favourites;
“Can you keep a secret? …. So can I”

I was a friend through bowling in Dartmouth, what seems a lifetime ago now. From our earliest meeting at Beazley's Pine Street it was like you had been a lifelong friend to Sheldon; he was that welcoming and outgoing a personality. Yes, he loved a great tease or to pull the wool over your eyes, with some story; only to give away his larceny with great gales of laughter. I moved from town and was a little surprized to learn that he also had and had gone "home" to Wolfville. He wasn't a superstar, more of a journeyman and isn't that more than enough to be in this life...may he Rest In Peace.

To Mary and family.
I am very sorry for your loss of Sheldon.
Even though I have never met Sheldon, I have heard alot about him from 1 of his childhood friends
Peter Hann.
When Sheldon reached out to me after hearing about about Petes passing we became friends through calls and writing each other. Sheldon loved his cards, said they put a smile on his face.
Condolences to you and the family.
RIP Sheldon. No more suffering.
Always in my heart ♥️

I have known Sheldon since he was a boy, but we lost touch throughout our working lives. When we retired we both ended up as neighbours at Tideways Co-op. We shared a keen interest in history, sharing stories and photographs of Wolfville (and the US Civil War). I did some family history about Eva's family. Sometimes, I would join Sheldon and Mary sitting under the maple outside her patio. I loved that guy--his sense of humour was catching!

To one of my best friends. Sheldon has gone way to soon. Was many more trips to take and many more laughs to have. He will be missed. Love my brother from another mother he would say to me. Never met anyone like him. Definitely one of a kind. If you really knew him you'd know what I am saying to be true. My condolences to his family.
