Obituary of Gordon Scott Boyd

Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Gord, announce that he died suddenly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, at the age of 70. He was born November 19, 1952 to Edward and Norma (Wright) Boyd in Quebec.

The three most important things in Gord’s life were faith, family and food, not necessarily in that order. He has pushed each of his three children out of a plane and followed right behind them with that big grin we all know and love. He loved to sing the good morning song to his grandchildren whenever they came to visit and would usually apologize with a piece of his famous beef jerky. He was so proud of all of his children and grandchildren and he never missed a chance to talk about them.

Gord could make a pizza from scratch while standing on 1 foot from start to finish. If you came to visit in the summer, you knew you had to "see the garden". He loved fishing and he always enjoyed his daily tea in the man cave with his neighbour and best friend, Brian Lavers and sometimes he even took over a plate of his home made biscuits. We know that he is in heaven enjoying a Kokanee with Mr. Gord, his mom and his dad.

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, the former Elizabeth “Debbie” Mowry; sons, Brian and Graeme; daughter, Leicia (Chris) Alderman; grandchildren, Geneva and Bella Hudgins and Hayden Boyd; step-granddaughter, Athena Alderman; brother, Rick (Wendy); sister, Cindy Vollick; and all of his nieces, whom he loved dearly.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ted Vollick and step-granddaughter, Liberty Alderman.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 1-3 p.m., in the Windsor Community Centre, 78 Thomas St., Windsor.
