Obituary of William Allan Wilson

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022 a beautiful soul took his place in heaven. His daughter, Kelli Anne had been waiting a long time to see her dad again. Our father, William Allan “Bill” Wilson was born on July 1, 1934 on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick. Early in his childhood, Dad and the family including sister, Sally and brother, Raymond moved to St. Andrews. He remained in St. Andrews until his 19th year when he boarded a westbound train for Regina, Saskatchewan. After graduating from the R.C.M.P. in 1953, Dad provided 26 dedicated years of service. This resulted in him meeting our mother, Mary “Paula” (McIvor) Wilson, with three children, Scott, Kelli Anne and Jacqueline to follow. He was very proud to be a Mountie.

In the thirty years that followed, Dad was a full-time employee in the insurance industry developing an expertise in fraud and arson investigations. Dad was recognized by the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia as an expert in his field. At the age of 75, he finally retired.

Dad was a humble man choosing not to discuss his life accomplishments, but we the family now can. His life was of service, service to his community, occupation, church and our family. His loved ones were always put first, his faith was strong and true, his moral compass never waivered. As a role model he could not be surpassed. We have been so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you Dad, Bill, we love you.

Thank you to the medical community for all of your service. A very special thanks to all those at Rose Marie Care Home in Hantsport. For the last five years you have provided outstanding care for our Dad.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no service by request. A private family graveside will be held in Summerside, P.E.I., at a later date. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting: www.demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca
