I am just learning of Bill’s passing at this time. I was not aware. I worked under Bill’s direction at ICPB. He was my mentor & taught me the art / technique of fire investigations allowing me to gain a new specialized skill set at that time. He was a gifted investigator and very well respected in the insurance industry and across all police agencies in Nova Scotia.
Bill continue to RIP - my friend & former colleague…

My condolences to Bill and Paula's family during these sad times. In 1996, I retired from the Force and Bill, then manager of the Halifax office of the Insurance Crime Prevention Bureau which led to my employment there. He took me under his wing and taught me fire investigative techniques I used till my retirement. The number of insurance claim managers and adjusters I met who raved about the tenacious, investigative nature Bill had, the amazing fire scenes he proved as suspicious and or fraudulent. In the RCMP or ICPB, Bill's reputation will live on as he taught and impressed so many along the way. Paula and I enjoyed discussing our hometown Summerside and the people we both knew. Cherish those memories all, people like Bill do not come along often.

Bill and Paula were stationed at Chester in the 70's, and became good friends with our mom and dad. Often on Saturday night after the legion dances they would end the night at our house for a lunch.
Bill and Paula were special people and as many have commented, they were role models on how life should be lived, always thinking of others.
Our thought are with Paula, Scott, Jacqueline and their families.
May God Bless you all!

This is what I posted on FB:
sending condolences to our classmate Jacqueline Wilson on the loss of her dad. May he RIP.
Bill Wilson and my dad served together in the RCMP and were great friends. Dad and I used to stop into their place in Bedford most Saturdays after we were grocery shopping. Bill's wife Paula was from PEI and was a cousin to my Aunt Ethel. There was lots of laughter and stories when we visited. They were always happy to see dad. They were very supportive when dad was in the nursing home , visiting him often. I am thankful for their friendship

To me, Bill was Sgt. Wilson. I worked for him in the early 70’s in Chester. Being new in the Force, he set a wonderful example for me. He was highly respected by his members and the community. He was a copious note taker and a dedicated manager. Whenever I met him after his retirement, he was always interested in what I was doing in my life. I offer my deepest condolences to Paula and his children. May he Rest In Peace.

To Bill's family,
I am saddened to learn of Bill's passing. I had the distinct pleasure to work with Bill during our Yarmouth RCMP days. Bill commanded respect by the way he wore his, nothing out of place, uniform and performed his duties. We all looked up to Bill. He was S/Sgt Wilson to us younger guys and we never and I mean never called him "Bill". A few years ago "Bill" was on his daily walk down the Bedford highway and I stopped and we shared a few laughs. After all those years I still could not call him "Bill". Now that's respect and he earned every bit of that. Rest in peace S/Sgt. Wilson!
