Obituary of Leslie Allen Haley
Please share a memory of Leslie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 97 of Windsor, formerly of South Rawdon, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 29, 2021, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born July 14, 1924 in South Rawdon he was a son of the late Arthur and Ida (Sanford) Haley.
He will be missed by sisters, Merle Harvey (John), Gloria Blanchard (David); daughters, Valerie Lynds (Terry), Janice Haley (André Boudreault); sons, Alan (Rosie), Blair (Lynda) and special son, Darcy Marshall; grandchildren, Karen, April, Robyn, Beth and Andrew; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life Helen (Lawson); brothers, Lyall and his wife, Alice, Emmerson and his wife, Lillian; sister, Ceretha and her husbands, C. Douglas Day and Dean Walker.
Although he loved his children, the love of his life was his wife. Farming, working in the woods, exploring Canada both near and far were his passion. He dedicated his life to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was respected in all of the communities where he lived. He was an active member of the South Rawdon Baptist Church, where he held the offices of Treasurer and Deacon for a number of years. He taught by example. He was a man of few words, although when he was around other men, he could talk with the best of them!
A special thanks to the staff at Dykeland Lodge, who learned to love him, for the twinkle in his eye, his humour, and his teasing spirit.
Always loved and forever missed.
