Please share a memory of Adrienne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
* Updated service details below * At the age of 66, after a long and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer, Adrienne has passed on to join loved ones gone before her. She passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 in Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on March 29, 1955 in Westfield, Mass., USA she was the daughter of the late Horace and Iona (Lutz) Cogswell. Adrienne’s strength, especially over the past 14 months, is something to be admired. Her early years were spent working in a tobacco field down in the USA. After settling back home in Nova Scotia she got a job as a journalist for the Berwick Register then she finished out her working career at Bargain Harley's where she spent many years. Her co-workers were just like family to her, she loved them all. She thoroughly enjoyed her yearly Caribbean Trips. We will never forget her joking ways as she was always up to no good and trying to pull over a fast one on anyone she could. Family and friend get togethers were always a very important to her, especially Saturday Night Parker Road Phantom Lodge meetings. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Thomas Gates, Aylesford; daughter, Erica (Alain) Doucet, Wilmot; son, Matthew, Aylesford; five grandchildren, Trelynn (Ben), Jayden, Rylan, Sophia and Wyatt; one great-granddaughter, Emily; daughter-in-law, Mandy Gates; brother, Bryan Cogswell, Westfield, MA; sister-in-law, Linda Cogswell, Granby, MA; as well as many other extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Adrienne was pre-deceased by her brother, Andrew Cogswell. We the family would like to extended out gratitude to all of the doctors and nurses at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax and Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville for all of their loving care they have provided to Adrienne over the past 14 months. As well as, all of our close friends and family who have provided love and support in many ways to all of us through this journey. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A public graveside service will be held in Aylesford Union Cemetery, 2451 Hwy 1, Aylesford on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Chad Clements officiating.
