Obituary of Alexander John Rowe

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander J. Rowe of Heart’s Content, Newfoundland, on April 7, 2021 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on November 20,1933 he was the son of the late Bertram and Emily (Hefford) Rowe. Alex will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Sadie (Sooley); daughters, Sherry Chislett (Rick), Wanda Graves (Tony Cummings), both living in Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mitchell) Hayley, Nova Scotia; Justin (Debby) Chislett, Hong Kong; Nicole Graves, Australia; Tyler Graves (Amy), PEI and two great-grandchildren, Evan, Nova Scotia and Ollie, Hong Kong; sister, Stella Prowse; sisters-in-law, Mabel Smith and Beatie Sooley; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to friend and neighbor, Jim Rowe. Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Hillyard of St. John’s. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
