It is with extreme sadness, coupled with dear memories, that I say a long distance goodbye to my incredible Uncle Alex. I have said many times to my Mother, his sister Stella, that he was the one man on this earth that I looked up to more than anyone else, and that if I could be half the man he has always been, I'd feel that I had done okay. Let's just say that he set the bar so high I am still nowhere close to that yet. His humble nature, kindness, positive outlook and willingness to help anybody in need exceeded that of any other person I have ever known. A simple but talented man, from a wonderful family, and who spent his whole life in the most beautiful of rural Newfoundland settings (Heart's Content), his actions truly did ring out loud and clear, if his words sometimes did not. A man of incredible character. My sincerest condolences to Aunt Sadie, Sherry and Wanda. I will truly miss him.

My son, Rama, and I were deeply saddened to hear the news of Uncle Alec's passing while visiting Heart's Content during Easter break. We dearly miss our habitual visits to Alec and Sadie during our times here.
