Obituary of Lois Grace Taylor

Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Lois was born in Florenceville, NB on March 4, 1927. She was one of six children born to Frank and Margaret (Black) Stickney. Lois and her husband Tip met in Montreal, married and moved their family to Windsor in 1964. Her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend was defined by helping others. Her family was her purpose and they were the biggest recipients of her giving spirit. Many more were touched by her generous and selfless ways. Although we lost her slowly, due to her illness, we are grateful for every moment. She was true to herself until the very end. Her essence of giving was noticed and admired by everyone she knew. Lois is survived by her husband Conrad “Tip” Taylor; her daughters, Janet Gagnier (Lonnie) and Nancy Delahunt (David). Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Mark, David, John Michael and Sarah Gagnier, Jane and Kevin Delahunt. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Stickney, Helen Wolf and Mary Hatfield. Her youngest daughter, Susan, died in 2009. Besides her parents and daughter, Lois was predeceased by her twin sister, Laura Springer and brother, Ernie Stickney. The family has been supported by many people over the past few years. Sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to our dear friends from Newfoundland, Patsy MacDonald and Kate Downey. The care that Lois received at the Windsor Elms was extraordinary and the family was supported in an exceptionally caring and generous way. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). The family will gather on Sunday, February 7 in Windsor United Church, for a private family service, with Rev. David Hann officiating. Interment will take place in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Lois may be made to Windsor United Church, PO Box 2037, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one’s choice.
