Over the past days I have had a chance to reflect on my memories of Mrs. Taylor. These memories drift to my younger years, and it sounds strange to use such formality. Mrs. Taylor was always “Janet’s Mom” to me. As we grew up, Janet’s Mom was a ubiquitous presence, always there but never in the way. Janet’s Mom offering cookies and milk (or apple juice!) at just the right time, always in the audience at the Christmas Concert, always with a crowd of kids at her house, quietly watching, willing to help anyone, in fact, a Mom to all. As we got older, the activities changed, but Janet’s Mom stayed the same. From the School to the Curling Club, and always at her house, Janet’s Mom was always a natural and ready listener who could talk about things that were of interest in the most comfortable way. She was just a just a great lady who was always fun. My sincerest condolences to Tip, Janet and Nancy and your families on a tremendous loss.

Dear Tip, Janet and Nancy, Steph and I were saddened this weekend to hear of Lois’ passing. Lois was such a good family friend, and of course a special friend and colleague to Mom and Dad – such a generous spirit. I know everyone will be commenting on how kind and thoughtful Lois was so here’s my memory. When I started playing drums in grade 7 (was that really 43 years ago…), Lois made me a denim bag to hold my sticks and brushes. I used it for years and years. Just the first of so many lovely and kind things she did for Steph and me over the years. She will be missed by all. Love, Don

Gracious, kind and caring, she welcomed me into her home as a "helper" and caregiver, and I was blessed to have spent several years enjoying her company and sharing stories with her and Tip , with a cup of tea and peanut butter cookies.
