It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emerson. Born on December 16, 1934 in Carlsbad Springs, Ontario, he passed peacefully into God’s care and keeping in the twilight hours of Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Emerson married the love of his life Gail (Flynn) on September 3, 1960 and was a devoted husband for almost 60 years. A loving father to Stacey Buffie (the late David); Deb Verge (Steven); Scott Hall (Kenna); he was also a proud grandpa to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Born into a large and loving family, Emerson will be remembered as a beloved brother, uncle and friend. Admired for his no-nonsense approach, Emerson truly loved life and lived it to its fullest with good humour and integrity. He enjoyed a good conversation and was an attentive and caring listener. The deep love he had for family and friends was rooted in honesty, kindness, and generosity and we are all blessed and better people for having known him and been loved by him. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ivan and Eileen Murphy, for their love, friendship and support. His wishes wouldn’t have been possible without you and for that we are forever grateful. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the Health Care team that took such great care of him, your compassion and kindness was a source of comfort to us all. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). By his request, there will not be a funeral, but if you would like to commemorate Emerson’s life, donations may be made to Hants Community Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care), 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
