As their neighbour for almost 10 years, we are heartbroken to hear of Ron’s passing. We would always enjoy his impromptu stories and jokes and his rides on the ride-on mower. He will be missed as a great and thoughtful neighbour and we wish we had more time with him.

We were very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was a good man, Mom and Ray went to school with him and always spoke very highly of him.

So sorry about the passing of your dad. The last time we saw him at Sobeys he had just lost his sister, Brenda, and had allowed Joan to live at The Elms. His whole world had fallen apart. It is with deep sympathy and a heavy heart that I send this message to the Barkhouse family. I was introduced to Ronnie via Reg Porter. Reg told me that he would take his saw to Ronnie to have it sharpened and I thought why would you pay someone else to sharpen your saw. Well after only one visit not only did I get my saw sharpened I received guidance on how to handle my saw and a joke or a story all for the same price.
I will miss you Ron and your friendship. Rest in piece my friend.

We were very shocked to read Ronnie`s obituary.I have known Ronnie since high school at Windsor Academy.I have had some good times with Ronnie and Ralph Mumford.It just won`t be the same not having Ronnie`s shop to go and have a great chat.I visited with Ronnie last summer and really enjoyed my time with him.Of course he told me a couple of jokes.May you rest in peace Ronnie,you earned it.You worked hard and was a great family man through all your troubled times.

We were shocked and so very sad to read this news this morning. We saw this sweet couple on average twice a week pre-COVID and have been wondering how they were doing as we came to look forward to chatting with Ron during their visits. We all caught ourselves many times just stopping to watch them coming and going - always holding hands - he was such a good man. Our entire staff will miss them and extend our deepest sympathies to his family.

To Danny, Mike, Murray and Jennifer and their families.Yesterday, brought extreme sadness to both Mike and I.......our community lost a kind gentleman in Ronnie . I looked forward to our chats in his driveway when my sister and I walked. Ron loved Joan immensely and spoke of her with much love and devotion. Mike and Ron shared many stories about Mike in his younger days when Mike dropped off the chainsaw......on a regular basis....to Ronnie's shop.
