Dear Jane, it is ith deep sadness that I have just learned of Shirley’s passing. She introduced me to classical literature and a lifelong love of reading. She always made me smile because she always had a smile on her face. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear sister. It has been many years since I spent time with Shirley as I moved away to BC in 1972. We grew up in the same wonderful, friendly neighbourhood and there are some that you hold in your memories forever. I have often thought of Shirley over the years and wondered how her life has been. So sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. I worked with Shirley in the Control Centre for many years. When I transferred from Sydney, in the early 80’s to work in the Control Centre she took me under her wing. It was always a pleasure to work with her and really enjoyed her Newfoundland wit! We shared so many laughs together.

I am so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing and your families loss. I worked with Shirley for many years, many years ago now. She was a hard worker, called it like she saw it, and we enjoyed a lot of laughs together. Although I haven't see her for years, she is one of those people that come to mind now and again - A great spirit you don't forget. May all the fond memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
