Gestures
Tanya and I connected on Facebook 2 or 3 years ago - thanks to a common interest in - and passion for - Nova Scotia. We were to meet during one of my visits to the province - I was over last October, for just one week, and there was no time for me to include a trip to the Valley - Tanya had asked if we would be able to meet and I had had to say that, unfortunately, it would not be possible on this occasion. In turn, I had asked her if she would still be ok for us to meet during the next trip - and she had said that it would fine of course. I deeply regret not having made the time last October and wish I had got to know her - I am sure we would have discovered many more common areas of interest.
My most sincere condolences to her family and friends.
I was so saddened to learn of Tanya's passing. My condolences to her family. She cared so much for all of you. Her illness was so sudden and difficult. I was so awed by her strength, respect for all, and ability to keep her values as she had to deal with the pain and impact on her body of the cancer.
She contributed a lot to the Health Board, both through her work with various organizations, but also her commitment to ensuring it ran well. She dealt with challenges honourably and respectfully. Her positive impact on the board continues. She and I found one time to go together to take pictures. I am so glad we did. I learned a lot about her approach and her. Her humbleness and dignity shine through. She'll be very much missed.
