Marilyn and Family.
It is my great honor to have met such a well educated compassionate understanding wity man who took on many challenges he faced head on. I miss having lunches with him that he would whip up....Aka from the deli at the grocery store which he made me sit and share with him. Our chats his stories he shared and the many items he would miss place that sometimes were right where he left them. You will be missed by so many who have known you. Take lot's of hugs with you for Christopher and pick up where you guy's left off at the hunting camp.
Rest In Peace My Friend you will soar like an Eagle.

My sincerest sympathies to the family. Elwood was one giant of a man; always reaching out to help others less fortunate. With his passing, I'm particularly grateful that I had/took a few opportunities over the years to listen while he shared his stories, most especially those involving (my Dad and Granddad) Ellis and Clark Dillman.
And stories were not all he shared...his writings and his jam also quickly come to mind. To those left behind, he is there in your heart, to be kept alive in the story telling. Much love and hugs from afar.

It was my privilege to work with Elwood on the Ben Jackson memorial.
Not only did he head up the committee of five but he succeeded in
bringing the Civil War enactors with their black powder guns from
New Brunswick to take part in the unveiling of the head stone in
Jackson's honor at the Lockhartville cemetery.
What a kind, patient, efficient, understanding gentleman he was.
I learned so much from Elwood. We remained friends from then on.
To Marilyn and all who mourn his passing I extend my heart felt
sympathy. My heart aches for you. -- Love and Prayers -Annie

Dear Marilyn and family: Charlie and I offer our sincere condolences at this very sad occasion. Mom and Dad, Bessie and Al Harlow, thought so very highly of Elwood and valued him as a wonderful neighbour and very dear and respected friend. Dad watched the building of your house with such anticipation. I remember Mom's stories of helping Elwood with his terrible migraines. I also remember how very kind you both were to Mom staying with her after Dad's death until I arrived. Your friendship was such a gift.
I hope that your memories will give you comfort at this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to Elwood's family....have been away from Hantsport for over 35 yrs and have not seen him in a long time but do remember him well... his many visits to our gas station in his company car from the mill, always well dressed in a suit and tie going to or coming from a meeting somewhere. He always around town and sponsored me in the swim-a -thon for the pool at HMCC. Sorry to hear of his passing...

Marilyn & Family,
I am so saddened to hear of Elwood's passing. I have many fond memories of Elwood, from his famous Jams to his many conversations in my office or driveway.
Elwood had great Faith and was often lifted in Spirit by prayer. In his struggle through the pain of Chris' illness, he would often show up at my office for quiet solitude and prayer. He deeply touched me in my time in Hantsport.
My prayer is that you will find solace in your memories and in the faces of your Grandchildren. Be assured you are in my prayers and thoughts during this time.
God Bless you all!
Rev Glennis

To the dillman family
My heart is with you at this difficult time. I knew Elwood when I worked in Hantsport in 1992 to 1997 he was one of my favourite people to see. He always tried to come off as this hard bear of a man but in truth he was a huge teddy bear. I still remember the day I realized he was a true and gentle giant,I was having a hard time at my job at that time Or a bad day andhe came in to my work and could tell I was very upset and he said tomorrow is a new day and things will work out and gave me a smile so warm and after that day would always crack a joke or say something to make me laugh. I remember telling him later that I thought he was a serious hard looking man he laughed and said “darn my secret is out”. I said he was just a giant teddy bear he said shhh don’t tell anyone. Rest In Peace my friend. Sending hugs to you his family.
