Age 96, of Windsor/Hantsport, passed away peacefully April 19, 2014 at Dykeland Lodge in Windsor. She had been a resident there for the past eight years.Born March 28, 1918 in Lockhartville to the late George and Eva (Boyd) Tracey, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell (Mary), Merton (Pauline), George (Louise), Glenn (Evangeline), Lawrence (Bessie); sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys (John) Shaw and Leah (Justin) King and half brother, Murray Penny. Surviving are daughter, Donna (Jim) Beckman and son, Terry (Cheri) both of Ladner, BC; six grandchildren, Todd Beckman, Calgary, AB; Daina Beckman, South Surrey, BC; Tina (Todd) Brenneis, Ladner, BC; Kelli (Dean) Tkachuk, Grand Prairie, AB; Justin Guptell, Vancouver, BC and Lisa (Mark) Janzen, Ladner, BC; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher and Christina Beckman, Calgary, AB; Brandon and Lexie Brenneis, Ladner, BC; Gregory, Brigette and Delaney Cunningham, Grand Prairie, AB; great great-granddaughter, Bella Beckman, Calgary, AB; half brother, Terry Penny, Lockhartville and half sister, Carol Miller, Fort St. John, BC; several nieces and nephews, as well as special friend, Christopher Alexander, Bedford, NS.Lova had a lifelong love of music and dancing. In her senior years, she played piano and fiddle for several groups and could often be found in the Dykeland great room playing a few tunes for her fellow residents. Her hobbies included oil painting, playing cards, crafting and quilting. She created beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren as a memory piece for years to come.The family would like to give special thanks to nieces June West and Lynda King for filling in for Donna and Terry over the years. Words could never express the appreciation they feel for the constant love and faithfulness they showed to their mother. Much gratitude goes to the staff at Dykeland for their care of Lova. This was where she wished to spend her last years and the family is grateful she was able to live out that wish.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation at the family’s request.  A service to celebrate Lova’s life will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Debra Mosher officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Private family interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Family flowers only by request, however donations in memory of Lova may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone St., Halifax, NS B3K 4W6.
