Obituary of Percy Howard Edwards

Please share a memory of Percy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Percy Howard Edwards announces his passing on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Percy, age 83, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 22, 1941, in Halifax and was a son of the late Adolf and Gladys (Forrest) Edwards.

Percy spent the early years of his life on the road as a trucker for Speedway and later Armour Transport, due to health reasons Percy retired at a young age and spent his time tinkering in the garage or building wonderful crafts. He prided himself in the craftsmanship of all of his home improvement projects and garbage bins that consumed his spare time. When he wasn’t working with his hands he loved to travel, while staying close to home and enjoyed busting out his good cowboy boots to show off his dance moves.

He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Denise (John) Murphy and Audra (Tim) Cochrane; along with his grandchildren, Daniel, Carissa and Justin and their families. Percy will also be missed by his stepdaughters, Miranda (Steve) Hume and Jessica (Brian) Barker; as well as, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Percy was predeceased by his wife of 35 years Marion; brothers, Kenneth, Gordon and Earle and sister, Barbara and partner Connie Caldwell.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). To honour Percy’s wishes a public graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9 in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor, Celebrant Helen Lindsay officiating. For all those who loved Percy and want to celebrate his life you are welcome to join his family at the cemetery. Please bring a chair if required.
