I am sorry to read of Jack's passing. It was always a pleasure to chat and listen to Jack.. Over the years our paths would cross, on his regular drop in visits, so enjoyed by my Mom, Ruby, and Aunt Helen, and his visits just up our street with his lifelong friend, Ken Beach. Mom always spoke fondly of Aunt Georgie and her growing up among her cousins in Windsor. Although it would be my wish to attend the service tomorrow, the forecast of the impending snowstorm will keep me off the roads tomorrow. So sorry for your loss, Pat

Doug Hergett posted a condolence
Dear Family of Jack I want to say that I was saddened by the announcement of Jack's death. Jack was so very helpful to me when I was writing my book "War Changes Everything." His recollections of Curry's Corner were sharp and detailed. As one of my father's good friends he filled me in on the early life of my Dad who was to a certain extent a mystery to me. His battle fatigue changed his life forever as did Jack's prisoner of war experience change him. Like my Dad Jack was a survivor and made a life for himself in spite of the injuries that war had inflicted. Jack was an important link with out history and I treasured the opportunity of knowing him and honouring his experience. He was a man to whom one could look up. I thank God for him. Doug Hergett
