To Krystal’s family and children-I am so very sorry for your loss. Krystal was a sweet, caring, and kind person. She was always so much fun to be around and was so funny, always making people laugh. I remember having a great time in our youth. I will remember those times fondly. She had such a beautiful voice and great talent. She will be dearly missed.

I first met Krystal in 2004 when she was a student in my English 12 class at Avon View High School. She was the kind of student that you could easily become attached to. She was respectful, a determined worker, and she smiled. She graduated that year, part of the Class of 2005, and I was sorry to see her go, but knew she would be off to find success. I was not surprised to find that success involved animals. Years later, we found each other on Facebook and I came to know so much more about her. She was still an animal lover! But she was now a mom and a wonderful one. She posted so many thoughts and photos relating to her children. It was easy to see they were her life. Not long ago, she shared a video of herself singing and playing her guitar. The girl had real talent! I watched it today in my attempt to understand why she was gone, but I got no answers, just a deeper sense of loss. Last year she lost a friend and she messaged me to ask if I thought it was ok to go to his funeral after a fifteen year separation. I told her to decide for herself, but I felt time apart did not take away from friendships of long ago. She responded to me with this:
“Thank you so much. I appreciate this. I had some call me silly for crying over him the other day and it broke my heart. Some people just aren’t considerate enough. I will be going to say good-bye on Tuesday. Thank you! I feel a lot better having chatted with you. ❤️”
Just another example of Krystal’s own consideration for others. That is who she was. Now just one year later, many people will come to say good-bye to Krystal and you will know how much she will appreciate it.❤️

We began as two strangers sitting in a classroom at Academy Canada in St. John’s. We very quickly became friends, then even quicker to close friends. Krystal picked me up for school every morning and brought me home at the end of the day. She even brought me for groceries whenever I needed to go. Even though sometimes the car ran out of gas or maybe broke down along the way, we still had the best times and the biggest laughs. Krystal’s heart was amazing. She’d do anything for anyone and any animal. The news of her passing was a hard shock to take in. My deepest condolences to her family, especially to her sister Kayla who was her very best friend. And to her children. May they always remember the hard working momma she was! Rest in Peace, sweet friend. Until we meet again.

To Krystals family, I'm sending my heartfelt condolences to all of you. My heart is breaking since the news of Krystals passing. Krystal lived with me for a year or two in St. John's and we had so much fun together. She was always up for anything and she would light up any room she was in. Life got in the way later and we lost touch but I thought of her often and we chatted every now and then. I thought the world of her and so did my family! I pray that God gives you all the strength you need to get through this difficult time, especially to her precious children. Much love to all of you ❤️ Rest in peace Beautiful
