Gladys Elizabeth Bamford - 84, Haliburton Place Long Term Care Facility, Windsor, formerly of Wiley Avenue, Windsor, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, March 3, 2013, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, following complications with a fall. Born February 9, 1929, in Newport Station, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Sanford) Bamford.Gladys was a long-time member of Windsor United Church where she attended right up until two years ago. She was also a member of Windsor Gliders Club and enjoyed knitting, reading and playing Bingo. Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her cousin, Eric (Pat) Sanford, Newport Station; second cousins and their families, Danny (Brenda) Cox and their daughters, Olivia and Breanna; Karen (Darrel) House and their son, Trevor; Darren (Tracey) Sanford. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George Bamford. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Haliburton Place, doctors and nurses of the Surgical Ward at Valley Regional Hospital and to EHS Paramedics.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, P.O. Box 981, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, Reverend Bill Gibson officiating. Reception will follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will then be held in Ste. Croix Cemetery, Ste. Croix. If so desired, donations in Gladys' memory to Windsor United Church, Haliburton Place or charity of choice are welcomed.
