Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 78, of Lower Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.

Born in Yarmouth to Col. Henry Murray and Marion Frances (Amiro) Fitzgerald on March 4, 1945. She spent much of her youth travelling abroad due to her father’s military career.

Pat graduated in 1968 as the very first female Electrical Engineer from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, which didn't fail to catch the attention of her first husband James “Jim” Gould-Thorpe. She worked in her field with the Bedford Institute of Oceanography until she chose to focus on raising her children in Cogmagun.

The rural life sparked a passion for community building where she excelled, both as a Municipal Councillor and as a Community Development Officer for the RDA. Pat was a passionate supporter of projects too numerous to name committing countless volunteer hours to many different organizations all while running a sheep/goat farm in rural Hants County. After "retiring" in 2013 she continued to volunteer, often supported by her loving second husband, Bill, with groups like Communities in Bloom, Quick As A Wink Theatre, and Rotary; ever humble about the roles she played in helping so many people achieve amazing things.

Pat is survived by her husband, Patrick “Bill” Gregory of Lower Burlington; her children, Joanna Gould-Thorpe (Dave Tremblay), Brenda Pritchard, John (Jeannie Ma) Gould-Thorpe; step-daughter, Tracy Gregory; sister, Teresa (Terrance) Sulymko; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Patrick, and James.

She was predeceased by her first husband, James Gould-Thorpe; her son-in-law, Donald Pritchard; and her parents, Col. H.M. and Marion Fitzgerald.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Willows and the staff of the Oncology/Urology floor at the Victoria General Hospital and additionally the Palliative Care team at Hants Community Hospital.
