Obituary of Irene Ellen Coldwell

Irene (Cress) Coldwell, age 76, of Coldbrook, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with her family by her side. Born in Saskatchewan on April 21, 1946 to William and Nora (Divine) Cress.

Irene eventually settled in Nova Scotia with her husband, Larry and her sons, Timothy and Tony. She was a talented seamstress and ran her own business in Kentville. She also just enjoyed bird watching from her sunroom and helping out the local animal shelter by fostering and eventually adopting her cats, Tiger and Dovey. 

Irene is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Tim and Tony; grandchildren, Keenan, Makayla and Michelle; sisters, Alta, Barb, Doris, Evie and Leona.    

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no memorial service, as requested by Irene. In lieu of a service, donations in Irene’s honour may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, for Esophageal Cancer Research, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
