HERSIR, Marie-José B.

It is hard to imagine a better, more beautiful, gentle and wise companion for the journey of life than José (Marie-José).

José finished the journey of her life at home on March 7, 2023 near 04:00 hours; that after a sailing-ship journey around the globe with me and well over a half century of togetherness. Some of her last words were: "We had a beautiful marriage" which brought tears, tears of recognition and total agreement.

In spite of a hard childhood, a damaged heart from a virus and being parentless at age 11, she blossomed in this world. She liked all good people and then some, and she was forever finding inspiration and satisfaction in the natural world. She loved animals, down to tiny bugs and insects, and the power of love was manifested in how they loved her back.

She wrote poetry, fashioned beautiful and useful things out of natural fibre and fabric, kept a beehive, cooked with many curious and exotic ingredients — including a variety of wild mushrooms she collected herself — and wrote a cookbook. She was possibly the finest astrologer.

Together we navigated our little schooner celestially around the globe, with never a dull moment.

With tears (because words cannot quite express all),
Klaus.
