Obituary of June Marie Hall

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, June Marie Hall, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Mom was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland on June 14, 1938 to the late Patrick and Julia (Gushue) Hicks.

Mom worked at City Hall in Corner Brook as a secretary as well as at a law office. After meeting dad, Paul Hall, they moved to Halfway Point were they started their family and then settled in Codroy Valley. Mom was a devoted wife and mother to her five children. Eventually, mom and dad moved to Mahone Bay and then settled in Three Mile Plains, Hants Co.

Mom always welcomed whomever came through the door. In her younger years, she loved to dance. She enjoyed music, reading, watching her soap operas and also sailing on Cliff and Ella’s boat. Mom had a ready laugh, a wry sense of humour (often characterized by sharp one-liners) and a love of life that was infectious. Her example and her gentle energy live on through her children and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Bradford (Diana), Jeffrey (Kendra), Craig (Charlane), Wade (Sara) and Laura (Hubert) Legge; grandchildren, Patrick, Darren, Keegan and Kason; sister, Helen Hicks; brothers, Roy Hicks and Gerald Hicks.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Paul; sisters, Shirley and Molley; brother, John.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Meadowview 3 of the Windsor Elms for the excellent care she received during her time there.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Bill Gibson officiating (masks are encouraged). A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
