Laurie and family,
I have so many wonderful memories of visits with you all since I started heading to NS with my mom in 2008. So many fun meals, stories, and adventures as we visited across the street. Donna knew everyone and where everything was which mattered a lot to us as Mom taught school in a 2 room school in the area in the 1940s. When we wanted to know where the old "x" was, just ask Donna and she could tell you where it was, where it moved and what it was now. Wondering if a former student was still around, ask Donna, she knew who his kids and grandkids were and who they married and where they worked. My mom caught up on all kinds of events, people and had some wonderful visits because of the Cards. Thank you for your all you did for Aunt Marg all those years too. You made so many of her adventures possible and fun. I am so glad I had the chance to visit there with my nieces and nephews and appreciate the fun and help you created for us too. I am so sorry for your loss but grateful for the wonderful woman Donna was and the hope of heaven. I wanted to share this with my Mom but I realize she knew before I did, and I am sure Aunt Marg and Mom and Donna are having a great celebration with Jesus.

I’m so heart To hear of Donna’s passing I know the last few years haven’t been easy! But as a family you were a rock for her and always looking out and doing what was best for Donna!
I have so many amazing memories of Donna she has taught me so much in the last 23 years I have lived across the road from her her wisdom ,her kindness,her love for us all was extraordinary gift! Donna was always a friend to lean on and yet loved a good joke and we have had many laughs thru the years and she was so helpful when I was a new mom and not sure what I was doing and can’t tell you how she did it but she would watch me walking my deck with this screaming baby she would come over take my little girl and within minutes have her stop crying and asleep! Not sure how but she had an amazing gift calming down little babies I remember asking her how did you do that . Her reply was simple “ Kim I had five children and all kinds of grandchildren “. Them we would laugh! We will all miss you Donna I just hope you knew how much we all loved you Rest easy Donna until we meet again someday!❤️

To the family of the beloved family of dear Donna Card;

It was an absolute honor, privilege and pleasure to have been able to care for Donna while she was at Dykeland Lodge.
She was one of my absolute favorites.
Her sense of humour, sweetness, stubbornness and mega-watt smile will be truly missed.
I bet it is a little quieter on BC today, while everyone gets used to the void of not having Donna wheeling through the halls, holding her precious stuffed animal.
She was so dearly loved by so many of the staff, in all departments, and residents.
