My condolences to the family. I met Elizabeth in 2021 when she put her house on the market and I purchased it. Returning to Hants County where I spent my youth, folks would say “Oh! You bought “Elizabeth’s House” followed usually about how they knew Elizabeth. After I moved in Elizabeth visited a few times and one time brought a photo album to show me pictures of the construction of the addition she added to the house. It was very evident that she had really enjoyed her home. I feel like the custodial torch has been passed and I cherish the stencilled stair case and the hand made hooked welcome mat at the front door which includes an image of the house. Knowing that there are many family memories “Elizabeth’s House” will live on.

We extend deepest sympathies to Elizabeth's family. Although we knew her for only a relatively short time we found her to be a very friendly and delightful person and a wonderful conversationalist. Rest in peace Elizabeth - you brought joy to many people.

I feel that I was blessed to have known Elizabeth. Her joy of music and her love of life were a true inspiration.. She was a giver and truly loved her drives in her car along with her stops for coffee. I will miss our chats but will always treasure our friendship. May she now rest peacefully and play to her hearts content with the angels.. Thoughts are with you all.. Diane

Thinking of you, Ann. I remember your mom from when you were just a little girl coming to piping lessons in Stellarton. She was such an accomplished lady. I agree with her, without music life would be a mistake.

Elizabeth always liked the expression that music could take us as close to heaven as we could get on earth. Her music did that. We at Newport Pastoral Charge were blessed by her gifts as our organist . She brought a zest for life and a sense of humour even in the toughest times. I recall once I helped her to her car after a service at Avondale and remarked on her determination to keep walking as her strength was failing. She said sharply; " I don't have to walk. I'm going to drive." Now she will be able to fly to the next world.
On another occasion I saw some people from a work crew standing on the road near her home. They were listening to her play the piano while they were on a break. I mentioned this to Elizabeth and she told me that she saw them, " but I didn't want to stop playing because they would stop listening." Those who listened were truly blessed.
May those blessed memories comfort all who were fortunate to share her life.

Mom and I were so very sorry to hear of Liz’s death.
Liz was my teacher in either grade 1 or 2; I just remember one day when my attention wandered and a ruler hitting my desk to startle me back into focusing!
In their retirement years Mom and Liz enjoyed a number of bus tours together as well as a train trip across Canada, a favorite of both. For many years they also enjoyed plays together at Neptune Theater.
Liz joined our family Christmas dinners for a number of years-and by all appearances-seemed to enjoy them in spite of the chaos and confusion!
I’m so glad Gord and I were able to coordinate one final phone call between Mom and Liz towards the end of December.
We will miss Liz but will have many fond memories to reflect upon.

Although I only knew Liz for a short time, she was a beautiful lady and a sweet friend. She would stop everyday to visit with my dog Lacey Starr in our apartment at the McLeod House in Windsor. My deepest condolences to her son & family.
