It is with sadness that we announce that Donald, Age 98 of Falmouth, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Falmouth, he was a son of the late Wordlu and Florence (Martin) Bauchman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Helen (Smith); daughter, Michelle (Mike) McLearn; sons, Craig (Michelle) Bauchman, Andrew Bauchman (partner, Tammy Daurie); daughter-in-law, Natalie Bauchman; grandsons, Mackenzie, Jordan, Spenser, Thomas, Benjamin and Samuel; as well as, special niece, Lynn (Christopher) Allworth and several additional nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Perry and Rennie; sister, Mary.

We are very proud of Dad as he achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture at McGill University in 1964. He then went on to achieve his Bachelor of Education from Acadia University in 1972. He was a teacher at Falmouth Elementary School for many years and during the summer he enjoyed gardening, apple orchards and the green house. Over the years he and mom were known for their big flower garden along the lane.

During his retirement years, Dad took up the violin and played with various local groups. He enjoyed his expanded greenhouse, gardening, taking care of his laying hens, trips to his camp and visits from his grandchildren.

Memories from grandchildren: from the day they were born dad wanted to be called “Grandfather”. Grandson, Spenser remembers grandfather teaching him how to widdle with his first jackknife. Grandsons, Mackenzie and Jordan remember Boxing Day target shooting with Grandfather in his big blue jacket, orange hat and hot drinks. Grandson, Thomas remembers grandfather asking him every day after school what the answer to 9 x 9 was. Grandson, Benjamin remembers driving the tractor with grandfather, hoeing potatoes and piling wood and grandson, Samuel remembers how grandfather would take care of the hens, scuffing a path to the hen house and cussing them every day.

Donald lived a beautiful and happy life blessed with six grandsons, twin boys, a daughter and a his ever loving wife, who was by his side his entire life. We will miss you terribly but knowing you are with our Lord and we will meet again for eternity, is very comforting. Rest in Peace Dad. XO

We would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Mark Kazimirski and the staff of Hants Community Hospital for their care provided to Dad.
