Obituary of Betty Josephine Meldrum

It is with sadness that we announce that at the age 86, Betty, of Berwick/Harmony, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Berwick, on December 3, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Howard Jefferson and Mildred (Gates) Morse.

Betty worked at Grand View Manor for over 25 years as a kitchen aid. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, humming birds, deer, cats and her dog, Riley. Betty was famous for her delicious Christmas butter tarts even though every year she would say, "they’re the worst I ever made".

She is survived by her children, Larry (Darlene), Christina (Randy) Sanford, Timothy (Marie) and Derek; grandchildren, Lindsay Meldrum, Angela (Rob) Chouinard, Ryan (Sara) Harris, Jaime Harris, Katelin and Collin Sanford, Cahley Meldrum, Jenna Meldrum (Logan Coffill) and Lawrence (Nellie) Meldrum; great-grandchildren, Gage, Ava, Zachary, Ayden, JJ and Henry.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Raymond and sister, Jeannie Keddy.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). At Betty’s request, a family graveside service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., in Morristown Cemetery, Rev. Deborah Lonergan-Freake officiating. Please note: If needed please bring your own chair, masks are encouraged.
