Obituary of Basil G. Hiltz

HILTZ, Basil Gordon – 85, Millville, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013, in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Forties, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Roderick L. and Ethel A. (Bezanson) Hiltz.In his earlier years, Basil worked at various places, later working for 35 years as a carpenter at E.R. McMaster & Sons Ltd., Kingston, until his retirement. He was a member of the Anglican Church.Surviving are his loving companion of 33 years, Rena V. Roach; son, David (Marlyn), Cambridge; daughters, Barb (Mike) Dempsey, Auburn; Shelley (Tim) Fredericks, Millville; step-son, Paul (Cheryl) Roach, Moshers Corner; step-grandchildren, Raelene (Steve) Vidito, Nictaux; Heather (Tammy) Roach, Kingston; Anthony (Michelle) Roach, South Farmington; step-great-grandchildren, Sierra, Keith and Aidan; sister, Mable Robar, Millville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Reggie, Stanley "Hop", Boyd, Ervin and James; sisters, Harriett and Elva Keddy; Viola, Vera and Annie Hiltz.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in the Morristown Community Centre, 10 Prospect Rd., Morristown. Funeral service will take place at 3 p.m., Monday, January 14, in St. Mary's Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev. Maya Bevan officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
