She was a member of the Windsor and District Labour Council and also Past President of Local 159 United Textile Workers of America. In this role, she attended the Atlantic Regional Labour Education Centre (ARLEC) at St. FX University to study social action and develop skills as a unionist to further the cause of improved worker conditions.

She was a graduate of Miss Murphy’s Business College and a community volunteer for many years, including as a Pathfinder Leader and a member of the Three Mile Plains Community Hall Association.

Sharon adored her three grandchildren, who affectionately called her G-Ma and was her happiest when spending time with them. She loved beach visits, day trips with family and friends, painting, daily coffee visits with dear friend, Clara and weekly bingo nights with her nephew, Joey. Sharon enjoyed seeing new places and was lucky to have taken her dream trip to Alaska when she retired.
