Obituary of Edna Marie Porter

It is with sadness that we announce that Edna, our beautiful Nana,  of Windsor, passed away at the age of 95, on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Walton, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Leila (McLellan) Burgess.

Edna was well known in town and will especially be remembered for her countless hours spent out walking daily when she was able.

She is survived by her sister, Elsie Hartlin; half-brother, Blaine (Helen) Patterson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as, extended family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Porter; daughters, Linda Mason and Sharon Jessop; sisters, Lilly Merritt, Peggy MacDonald, Julia Salter and Marina Carmichael; brothers, Franklyn and Harris “Bobby” Burgess; half-brother, Les Patterson.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth. Donations in memory of Edna may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
