Obituary of Tracey Dawn Spencer

Please share a memory of Tracey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 54 of Windsor lost her battle with cancer on Friday, July 8, 2022 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Blaine and the late Rosalie “Mickie” (Mitchell) Cochrane.

Tracey may have lived her adult life in Windsor and Falmouth but Ellershouse was always HOME. She was forever grateful to have grown up in such a family oriented  community.

She was employed by the Windsor Agricultural Society and loved her job at the Windsor Exhibition Grounds. She always had a smile for everyone as well as a helping hand.  Camping season was a happy time as it meant that her special visitors were on their way.

Tracey leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends, all who appreciated her quick wit and sense of humour. Her nieces, Trinity and Brynna were very special to her and they will miss her every day.

Besides her dad and stepmother, Blaine (Betty Ann) Cochrane, Tracey is survived by stepsisters; Rose Campbell (Lucie) and Barb Campbell (Marc); sister, Natalie (Rick) MacKenzie; nieces, Natasha Chandler (Bill), Trinity MacKenzie (Ethan) and Brynna MacKenzie; stepson, Matt Spencer. She also leaves behind her four very special fur babies, Axel, Foster, Mickey and Layne.

Tracey was predeceased by her mom, Rosalie “Mickie” Cochrane and husband, Eldon (May 27, 2022).

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family committal for both Tracey and Eldon will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor at a later date. A public reception will be held on Sunday, July 24 at 3:00 p.m. in the O’Brien Building on the Hants County Exhibition Grounds, 221 Wentworth Rd., Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tracey may be made to the Ellershouse Community Hall, 429 Ellershouse Rd., PO Box 25, Ellershouse, NS B0N 1L0.
