Obituary of Donald Burns Rogers

Age 60, of Mount Denson, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Annapolis Royal on October 15, 1961, he was a son of James “Jim” and the late Barbara “Barb” (Graham) Rogers.

 

Don worked most of his life as a flour miller. He enjoyed football and was an avid CNN watcher. He loved taking trips down south and his Tim Hortons coffee, as well as spending time with his dog, Sassy.

 

Besides his father, Jim, Don is survived by his wife, the former Debra (Millen, Brothers); daughters, Sarah Brothers (Jonathan Ralph) and Vanessa Brothers (Jordan Stevens); grandchildren, Daniel, Brooklyn, Brielle and Alena; sister, Pam Rogers-Hooper; brother, Philip (Kiska) Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Besides his mother, Barb, Don was predeceased by his best friend, Sassy the dog.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a service celebrating Don’s life will be held Saturday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Andrew Barker officiating (masks are encouraged). Guests are welcome to join with the family for a reception in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre following the service. A burial will be held at a later date in New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don may be made to Hants Co. SPCA, PO Box 2274, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one’s choice.
