Age 73, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 29, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late James and Avadne (MacLeod) Connolly. Bruce attended Sir George Williams University where he received a Bachelor of Arts, while also getting his Bachelor of Education at Acadia in 1973. He began his teaching career at Hants West Rural High School in 1973 and worked there until his retirement in 2003. Bruce was known as a big jokester who always had a new joke to share with others and enjoyed some political banter. He loved The Rolling Stones and had a huge collection of vinyl records. He was also an avid stamp collector and Montreal Canadiens fan and he would never miss a game. Bruce loved being by the water and going for country drives but he especially loved his grandkids. Bruce is survived by his partner, Bonnie Church, Windsor; daughters, Michèle (Ian) Van Zoost, Windsor; Angie (Ashley) Shepherd, Edmonton; grandchildren, Pacey, Zoë and Declan; as well as long-time friends, Randy, Bob and Tom. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Danielle (Brunette) Connolly; and sister, Heather Hughes. Special thank you to his partner, Bonnie for all of your love and care during these last few weeks, without you we could not have done this. Also, thank you to the Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care team for all of you help and support as well. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no service by request.
