DAUPHINEE, James Stanley “Stan” CD2 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stan Dauphinee (also known as “Crow”). Dad passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Hants Community Hospital at the age of 82 after a brief illness. Born on August 19, 1939 on Indian Point Road in Glen Haven, he was the son of the late James and Helen Dauphinee. Dad served almost 35 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, with the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) and the Canadian Airborne Regiment. During his years of service, he spent four years in Germany, four U.N tours in Cypress and an extended tour in Egypt (1973/74). He is survived by his daughters, Tracey (Richard) Davis, Windsor; Brenda (Bobby) Cruickshank, Mt. Denson and Lori (Andrew) Foster, Dartmouth; four grandsons, two granddaughters, four great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his wife Lois in 2016 and his sister, Anna Purkis. Stan was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Dad had a great love for the outdoors, gardening, moose and deer hunting and sitting back in his boat fishing. He was a diehard Montreal Canadiens fan. He also enjoyed his morning coffee with the boys at Tim Hortons. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, November 25. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 26 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Ste. Croix Cemetery, 156 Cemetery Rd., St. Croix. Please note: Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination and identification must be presented upon arrival and masks are required at visitation, legion service and the funeral.
