Obituary of Joan Leona Starratt

Age 84 of Falmouth, formerly of Bishopville, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 11, 2021 in Windsor Elms Village, with family by her side. Born in Windsor on July 15, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Brett and Flossie (Swinamer) Lunn. Joan was a homemaker. She was a member of Hantsport Baptist Church and belonged to the Bishopville Daisy Club. She is survived by her children, Richard “Rick” (Brenda), Bishopville; Joanne, Windsor and Tony, Hantsport; grandchildren, Starr (Trevor), Joey (Sarah), Linda, Michael (Shayna), Laura, Sarah, Amber (Matt) and Evan; great-grandchildren, Ritchie, Josh, Jersey, David, Seth and Lilly; brother, Wayne Lunn; sister, Joyce; sister-in-law, Joyce and companion, Alphonse Gillis. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Starr (2008); daughter, Evelyn; brothers, Merrill, Graham, Malcolm, Ron and Gary; sisters, Helen, her twin sister, June and Madeline. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317) where visitation will be held Thursday, October 14 from 6-8 p.m. Please note: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and identification must be presented upon arrival and masks are required. A graveside service celebrating Joan’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 15 in Bishopville Cemetery, Bishopville Rd., Bishopville, Rev. Jennifer Riley officiating.
