Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
TREFRY (Keeler), Sandra Elizabeth Passed away peacefully at home in Ellershouse, on October 3, 2021 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 6, 1945 to the late Howard and Elizabeth (Hodgson) Keeler in Halifax. Known to many as “Momma”, Sandra always had her arms wide open for a hug, long before you were even close. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her positive attitude, beautiful smile and those heartfelt, generous hugs. Momma loved going to her happy place at the lake and running the trails on the 4-wheeler. Momma enjoyed dancing, bowling, crocheting, music, doing the puzzles in the paper, and was always up for a good laugh with family and friends. Sandra spent many years in retail before taking on her most cherished role as a Mother. After moving to Falmouth in 1980, she worked at Ed’s store and the Hants Community Hospital, followed by her career with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, in Windsor and Kentville. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David; son, Michael (Darlene); daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Murray; and grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, Elizabeth, Katelyn and Benjamin; sister, Sharon Currie-Boesch; brother, Howard (Karen) Keeler; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Carol Keeler; and, many cousins (special cousin Brenda), nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Elizabeth Keeler; brothers, Roy and David Keeler; Father and Mother-in-law, Emerson and Hazel Trefry and special family friend, Charles Baldwin. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Nurse Practitioner Dawn Lowe, Dr. Jonathan Trites, Dr Stephanie Snow and Palliative Care RN Amber Phillips. As she held all of us in her heart, she will live in a special place in all of our hearts forever, as an extraordinarily loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held Saturday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m., Rev.
