It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the quiet passing of Walter on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his wife, Helen and family friend, Diane, by his side, at the age of 79. Born on September 19, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, he was a son of the late Frank and Grace (Schumacher) Lindley. Walt was a very loving father and thought the world of his daughter. He became a Canadian Citizen in 1978 after making a trip to Nova Scotia in 1966 and falling in love. Walter had a great love of languages and photography. His love for both started at a very early age and continued right up until his passing. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years the former, Helen L. Casey; daughter, Vicki (Craig) Lewis; granddaughters, Madeline Sabrina “Maddie” Lewis; Natasha Lewis; sister, Janet (George) Bunbuc; stepmother, June Card-Lindley; brother-in-law and best friend, Reg Gauthier; as well as other extended family members. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his daughter, Audri Lindley. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Hants Community Hospital for their excellent care given to Walt. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be a private graveside service held in Ste.
