CAMPBELL, Susan Elizabeth - 58, Windsor, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with all of her family by her side, after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 22, 1954, in Windsor, the daughter of Roland Hanson and the late June (Allison) Hanson.Susan graduated from Windsor Regional High School with the class of 1972 and later attended Miss Murphy’s business college in Halifax. On September 8, 1973 she was united in marriage to Robert Campbell, also of Windsor. Susan worked briefly as a medical secretary with the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax, and was then employed by CIBC for 37 years, working in a number of roles at the Windsor branch. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, and also heavily involved in the community as a volunteer with the CIBC "Run for the Cure," Windsor Regional High School, Windsor United Church Choir and numerous other organizations. Susan is remembered as a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend to many.She is survived by her husband, Robert Campbell, Windsor, children, Ian (Marsha) Campbell, Springdale, NFLD; Jill (Jedediah) Martin, Windsor; and Alexander (Brettanie) Campbell of Fort Simpson, NWT; grandchildren, Noah, Jonah, Dallen, and Jase; her father, Roland Hanson; brothers, James Hanson, Amherst; and Paul (Shelayne) Hanson, Waverly; and her sister, Karen (Carey) Rafuse, Windsor; special nieces, Emily Rafuse, Abigail Hanson, and Ella Hanson; special nephew, Nicholas Rafuse; and her two beloved cats, Ashes and Lily. She was predeceased by her mother, June Hanson.The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Cal Kilcollins, Dr. Cathryn Smith, Dr. Ken Johnson and Bev Lyttle, as well as the entire Palliative Care staff at Hants Community Hospital.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 2. Memorial service will take place 4 p.m. Monday, December 3 in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Private family interment service will take place in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
