Obituary of Howard Burton Connors

Please share a memory of Howard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The children of Howard Burton Connors are saddened to report his passing on Friday, January 15, 2021 at age 90. Howie was born in Poplar Grove, the youngest son to the late John Ira and Ruby Bell (Fisher) Connors. He began working and living on farms at the age of 11, settling outside of Hantsport with Betty in 1949 and working the next 40 years at the Minas Basin where he learned the millwright trade. To his kids he was the first MacGyver we knew, with creative fixes for every problem. He was quick to laugh, quick to help others and an inspiration to work hard and enjoy the simple things in life. If you would like to celebrate Dad’s life, work a hard day, drink a cold beer, laugh with those close to you and love your family. He was predeceased by his wife of almost 70 years, the former Betty Morgan. Surviving are his children Mona (Jake) DeMan, Joy (the late Clary) Murphy, Dale (Cheryl), Debbie (Paul Gourley) and Angie (Stephen Rogers); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Thank-you to Dawn Lowe, Palliative Care, EHS paramedics and VON for their excellent care and a special thanks to granddaughter, Shanna, for her love and support and for her special gift of being in the right place at the right time. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
