We were lucky to have Lolita and Lyle as next door neighbours for over 20 years. Lyle taught me a lot about many things, he supplied us with apples during the summer and he knew every heirloom variety and when they were best to eat; he always shared some of his honey from his own bee hives with us; he raised the most delicious pork and smoked bacon you could ever eat. He had many talents and was always willing to share some of his wise advice and always looking out for his neighbours. On one occasion when my wife Sherry was quite pregnant we had both worked all day and a winter storm left about a foot of snow on the ground, when Sherry arrived home Lyle had our driveway, walkway and doorstep shovelled. Lyle has left our family with many fond memories.
