Obituary of Phyllis Mae Card

Age 83, of Windsor, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born April 21, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Avard and Muriel (Tucker) Card of Walton. Phyllis is survived by daughter, Terry (Glen) Harvey, Edmonton, AB; son, Michael Garland, Toronto, ON; brother, Wallace Card (Muriel Corkum), Berwick; grandchildren, Keely and Corey Harvey, Edmonton, AB; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Norman Card, Walton; two twin brothers in infancy; as well as the father of her children, John (Jack) Garland. Phyllis was very pleased and proud to have spent time with Corey and family the last two summers. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the medical staff that have taken care of her during her illness. Also, a big thank you to all the people who have helped Mom out over the past year. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be a public graveside service on Saturday, July 25 at 2 p.m. in Centre Burlington Cemetery, Hwy. 215, Centre Burlington, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines must be followed. It is recommended that you wear a mask and if necessary, please bring your own lawn chair and umbrella. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting: www.demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca
