I was sorry to hear of Olive's passing. I first met Olive as a member of the Hantsport & Area Historical Society, many years ago.
Two years ago, my mother, Verna Fletcher, came to live at the Windsor Elms and Olive showed tremendous kindness to her as she welcomed Mum to Meadowview.
I had many conversations with her over the years, all very pleasant and encouraging.

Very sorry to hear, your folks were the perfect couple. Olive was so humble, intelligent and graceful. Throw that together with a willingness to let Allison be deadpanned acerbic but with a wink and and a curl of the lip that Olive would not only approve of but match the same lip curl! Take care girls, you’re the result of that love! Darren Black (the little blond kid produced by Pat and Vic Black.❤️

Leah and Laurel, it is of great sadness to hear that Mrs. Clark (in later years to me, Ollie) passed away. She, to my knowledge, was the last remaining member of our small neighborhood. Ollie was a wonderful lady and friend to us all. Remember the wonderful contributions she made to so many lives in our community.
With our deepest condolences.

Hello Leah and Laurel,
Although I didn't know your mother very well, I certainly remember how welcoming and kind and cheerful Mrs. Clark was when I dropped in to visit from time to time. Your mother was always there with your father, of course, and after your father passed away, I still visited your mother once or twice, just to say hi and to chat for a bit. Your house was always beautiful. I found it very easy to talk with Mrs. Clark, and I enjoyed it. It was always positive. I remember writing to your mother when your father died, about how lucky we all were to have known him. Today I think, how lucky your father was to have known and married your mother! - and how lucky you are, and how lucky everyone is who knew your mother, with her kind and interested and interesting life. I thought the obituary was very well done. I will remember her fondly.
Take care,
Jim Parsons

Dear Leah and Laurel,
We have so many memories of your mom -- how graciously she welcomed us when we moved to 16 William 26 years ago ;the Christmas teas; watching the huge pine tree next to the house come down; watching the installation of the new windows (and the dismay when a wind blew them in on the dining room table); riding the excursion train to Wolfville; cold drinks on the front porch in summer and tea and cookies on the back porch in the spring and fall; late-night lights in her sewing room as she prepared for the Bazaar; the day she left a pot on the stove and the Fire Dept. came roaring up;-- and the annual quest for a lush, green front lawn. Such a variety of memories but we cherish them all and miss her very much. She was the perfect next-door-neighbour. Please accept our condolences.

I fondly remember Mrs. Clark (and Al Clark who was my Principal) from my time living in Hantsport. I remember Mrs. Clark being involved in many events/activities in town performing gracefully and enthusiastically in everything she did. One special memory for me was one winter passing through MicMac Mall and hearing someone call my name. It had been many years since I lived in Hantsport and I wondered who would remember my maiden name. It was Mr & Mrs. Clark and it was very special they recognized me and stopped to catch up on the many years since I left. I am very sorry I did not take the opportunity to seek them out again on the few occasions I went back to Hantsport area as I know it would have been a very interesting visit. Instead I now have to send condolences,to their family. One of the things we must learn as we age.....

It was my privilege to get to know Mrs. Clarke at various church and
community functions. When I was secretary of Hantsport and Area
Historical Society for a time I learned what a kind, caring, thoughtful,
informed, interested and interesting lady she was. It was my honor
to call her friend. Christian sympathy to all who mourn her passing.

To Leah and Laurel and your families,
My sincere condolences to you on the passing of your dear Mom. I have so many wonderful memories of your Mom through the years, it is not possible to list them all here. She was a wise and thoughtful person, listening and giving sage advice when asked. In her later years, I so enjoyed our many visits at Gladys Manning, where we shared our thoughts about life and laughed a lot! I will miss the twinkle in her eye and our hugs. Know that she will be truly missed and forever remembered. Virtual hugs to you both!

Condolences to Leah and Laurel. I have many fond memories of your mom. One that has stayed with me is our Grade 11 class trip to Quebec when your parents were the only chaperones for 20 of us. I believe we behaved due to the respect we had for both of them. Keep your memories close during this difficult time.

One of the best things about Avon United Church in Hantsport, was to meet Ollie Clark. She was a teacher, par excellence. We had fun with the Bible and the various other things she got up to . She was always generous , had wit, was observant about caring for family and friends. She was always accepting and intelligent about the kind of world we can create. It was a privilege to know her . I will treasure the memories of her. Sincerely, Barb Curry

Laurel and Leah:
I was sorry to read about your Mom’s passing. She was such a kind and friendly woman and I have fond memories of her serving tea at United Church functions. She always took time to have a conversation and was genuinely interested in what I was doing. More recently, I visited her a few times while she was recovering in the Windsor Hospital when Dad was there. We had great chats and she always lifted my spirits. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have as they will provide a great deal of comfort in the days and weeks ahead.

I would like to give my sincere condolences to Olives daughters Leah and Laurel and the rest of her family. I have a sadness in my heart that I was not able to continue to be Olives companion in the last weeks of her life. I enjoyed her many story’s of her kids and love of her husband Allister and her girls and grandchildren. Olive became a special woman that I looked so forward to spending time with. I missed her so much. It was a pleasure getting to know Olive.
