Obituary of Phyllis Alice Williams

Age 84, of Windsor Forks, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, with daughters, Karen and Kathy by her side. Born September 26, 1935 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Lorena “Renie” (Harvie) Underwood. In early years, Phyllis worked at Windsor Textiles, leaving in 1966 to look after her family and taking in foster children. She was a member of Windsor Church of the Nazarene where she loved serving in the church telling others about the Lord she dearly loved. Special thanks to all the CCA’s and nurses at Dykeland Lodge for all the care and compassion shown to Mom in the nearly 10 years she lived there. Special thanks, as well, for your compassion and help during this current Covid-19 crisis; you are so appreciated. Phyllis is survived by daughters, Karen Williams, Windsor; Arlene Williams, Hantsport; Kathy (John) Foote, Cole Harbor; sons, David (Nancy), Union Corner; Wade (Jane), Nepean, Ontario; grandchildren, Lacey (Brandi) Williams, Sarah (James) Williams, Tara Williams, Gillian (Evan) Williams, Hillary Williams, Jackson Williams, Michael (Charlotte) Foote, David (Jess) Foote; five great-grandchildren; sister, Renie Tingey, Manitoba; brother, Garnet Underwood, Hantsport. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by husband, David Joseph Williams (1996); infant daughter, Mary (1961); siblings, Vivian Oliver, Theodore, Owen, and Louis. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date.
