Obituary of Beverley Anne "Bev" Hurshman

Please share a memory of Beverley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 59, of Windsor. The family of Beverley Hurshman are extremely saddened to announce her sudden death on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Born on June 5, 1960 to the late Harold and Anne (MacLeod) Frank, she was a lifelong resident of the Windsor area. Bev was known by so many people which was evident any time she went to the grocery store by the amount of people who stopped to chat with her. In her younger years, Bev enjoyed participating in many sports including swimming and hockey. Her small stature never stopped her from being a fierce opponent to any competition she faced. In her later years she loved being outside gardening or just enjoying a cup of coffee on her back deck. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially at holidays. One of her biggest passions was caring for animals in any capacity. Whether it was rescuing a raccoon or caring for stray cats, no animal was left hungry. She loved nothing more than her family especially her two granddaughters, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 39 years, Don Hurshman; daughters, Kendra Mahoney (Adam) and Kristi Duncan (Keegan); granddaughters, Emma Mahoney and Isobel Duncan; sisters, Cindy Sabourin (Mike), Julie McCarthy; brothers, David Frank (Susan) and Sandy Frank (Paulette Phillips); as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. Besides her parents, Bev was predeceased by brother-in-law, Jeff McCarthy. Bev will be missed by all who knew her and the loss to her community will be great. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 5 from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, for a time of sharing memories and stories. Donations in Bev’s memory may be made to 9-Lives Cat Rescue NS, PO Box 125, Falmouth, NS B0P 1L0. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting: www.demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca
