Obituary of Andrew Weir

Age 77, of Falmouth, formerly of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Scotland in 1942, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Aird) Weir.

Andrew was a civil engineer for over 40 years.  He moved to Canada with his wife Margaret in 2009. He was a member of the North Brook Chapel in Dartmouth and enjoyed a number of years of fellowship there. He was known for his sincere Christian beliefs from a very early age. He was an elder for many years and was known to give wise counsel. He was also a Sunday School and youth leader. Andrew organized weekly gospel events for his local community and enjoyed singing very much.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of Hantsport; his daughters, Audrey and her husband, Findlay Muir; Lillian and her husband, Robert Patrick; Deborah Weir; younger brother, Bill Weir and his wife, Eileen and their two sons and families; step-children, Craig (Meta) Muir and Fraser Muir; step-grandchildren, Nathan, Logan and Gabriel Muir.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to all the staff at the Windsor Elms Village, especially the staff who worked or had worked, on Meadowview 1.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family graveside will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. A public funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m., in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiating.
