Obituary of David George Shaw

David G. Shaw passed away at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the age of 80. He was a son of the late Vernon and Thelma (Phinney) Shaw.

 

David was a dairy farmer, truck driver, U-Pick operator, produce farmer and renowned sauerkraut maker. He owned and operated a farm market and had many greenhouses. David was a loving father and grandfather and relished good conversation.

 

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Schofield); son, David (Julie) Shaw, Windsor Forks; daughters,  Darlene McRoberts, Dartmouth; Evelyn Caldwell, Windsor Forks; sisters, Florence (Weldon) Swinamer, Vaughan; Dorothy (Leroy) Collins, Windsor Forks; Linda (Wayne) Keddy, Truro; brothers, John (Heather), Falmouth; Paul (Trudy), Windsor Forks; grandchildren, Jeremy McRoberts, Douglas Kelley, Cory Kelley, Ashley Swinamer, Danielle Trenholm, Patrick Shaw, and Chris Kelley; great-grandchildren, Logan, Madison, Aubrey and Alyse.

 

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a son in infancy; brothers, Steven and Gordon (Ida).

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 15 in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, 155 Town Road, Falmouth, Wayne Keddy officiating. Donations in memory of David may be made to Hants Community Hospital Foundation, 89 Payzant Drive, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
