WELLWOOD, Earl Murray - 79, Rawdon Gold Mines, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Rawdon Gold Mines, he was the son of the late George and Marion (Northup) Wellwood.Earl worked for 62 years in construction, the last 39 years with Ocean Contractors, recently retiring at the age of 79. He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon, having served as Warden, a member of the Church Council and was also a member of St. Paul's Church choir. Earl was an active member of the community.Earl is survived by his loving wife, Annabelle R. (Canavan); daughter, Ruth (Ben) Hawkins, Kemptville, Ont. and son, Steven (Kim) Wellwood, Rawdon; grandchildren, Jaimen and Jacob Hawkins; Heidi, William, Brittany (Swinamer) and Amy Wellwood; sister, Verna Munroe, Halifax. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Rev. Austin Munroe.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd.), 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors Friday, October 5 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6 in Christ Church Anglican, 543 King St., Windsor, Rev. Carson Baxter and Rev. Robert Brush officiating. A reception will be held in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Private family interment will follow in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Centre Rawdon. Family flowers only, by request.
