Obituary of Maude Irene Oickle
Age 83 of Hantsport, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Hantsport on January 9, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Captain Charles and Florence (Fields) Barkhouse.
Maude worked at the Hantsport Juice Plant and at Canadian Keyes Fibre for years. She was a member of the Avon United Church. In her spare time she loved playing cards, doing the Friday Lexicon in the paper, going for walks with friends and especially her visits with family.
She is survived by children, Gary (Monique), Hantsport; James (Susan), Hantsport; Brenda (Michael) McCoombs, Mount Denson; Fred (Tanya), Kentville; grandchildren, Shane, Megan, Cody, Robyn, Cameron, Nathan, Mike and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jagger, Lola, Harlow, Easton, Esmay, Bohdi, Remi and Hayze; sister, Jessie Willigar; several step grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Maude was predeceased by her husband, Ivan; brothers, Charles Barkhouse, Fred Scott, John Scott, Cecil Scott and George Scott; sisters, Susie Starratt and Aileen Best.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Maude’s life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 25 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Family flowers only by request.
