KAY, Olive "Irene" - 86, of Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2012, with her family by her side, at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Toronto, Ont., on September 14, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Bertie George and Agnes Rene (Jarvis) Reeve.Irene spent most of her life caring for family and friends. She volunteered at Dykeland Lodge and the Windsor Elms and she enjoyed helping others. In her younger days, she was an avid bowler, winning many trophies and awards. In later life she played bingo all over Nova Scotia. She loved people, was generous and loved life. Irene loved talking to all who passed her and called them Miss. She enjoyed talking and joking with all her Miss’ at the Windsor Elms Village. Irene was the last surviving member of her immediate family.She is survived by her only daughter, Margaret Anne (Kevin) Bonn, Windsor; grandchildren, Krista Lyn (Jonathan) Gallie, Alberta; Michael Bonn (Michelle Wile), Windsor; Margo Brightman (Abel Stuart), Three Mile Plains; great-grandchildren, Griffin and Alora Gallie, Alberta; Michelle Griffin, Bailey and Amelia "Mia" Brightman, Garlands Crossing; foster great-grandson, Ryan Bucci. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Hayes, Helen Bloor, Mae Barclay, Agnes Knott, and twin sister, Mable (in infancy); brothers, Herbert and Gordon Reeve. We would like to thank the staff and doctors, at Windsor Elms Village for all their care and love for our mother, grandma, and great grammie. A special thank you to Brad Cochrane for his help in our time of need.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd.), 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Irene’s request there will be no funeral service. The family will host a gathering from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, at 141 Dill Rd., Windsor, all are welcome to attend. A public interment service will be in St. Philips on the Hill Cemetery, Unionville, Ont., with her parents and siblings, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, Rev. Stephen Kern officiating.
